One More Reason Your Business Needs Facebook

It’s no secret that Facebook is the number one social network. With over one billion users around the world spanning across many demographic groups, it’s hard to find a reason not to be on Facebook.

It seems Facebook has a love-hate relationship with its business pages. They have many great aspects to their site to keep businesses holding on – a very large audience, a very large amount of active users each day, an easy scheduling system, well designed photo and video options, company reviews, customer service support, and the ability to create hyper targeted ads. But then there’s the organic reach issue and Facebook making it harder for brand pages to reach their audience. How can your business be social if the social networks take away the social aspect?

Facebook is becoming a pay-to-play network but they’re definitely making it worth your while.

Over the last few weeks, Facebook has rolled out a new feature for business pages – a call to action button. Some businesses were already introducing their own call to actions into their Facebook pages through apps, cover photos or landing pages. Facebook just made things a whole lot easier.

Instead of designing a cover photo or ad with your own call to action button, Facebook has given you the option of seven different buttons that will display right next to your company name. The options for the call to action button are “Book Now”, “Contact Us”, “Use App”, “Play Game”, “Shop Now”, “Sign Up”, “Watch Video”. These buttons can relate to a lot of different businesses. Facebook has stated that you can only have one button displayed at a time but you are free to swap them out at any time.

So what?

Did you know that 70% of people follow brands on Facebook to receive special offers? This new feature being in the cover photo allows brands to easily catch customers eyes with appealing graphics then draw them in to force action.

The goal is to drive business objectives. Many business owners don’t understand how Facebook helps them. Facebook has become something businesses know they need but they don’t know why. They don’t understand how it helps them in terms of leads and conversions unless they pay for ads. Now, Facebook has developed a tool to do just that – generate leads.

They have always had tools that do this. Through Facebook you can create apps so businesses would make their own call to action buttons or landing pages. But it was a difficult project and if you don’t know anything about app building, it most likely wasn’t going to work correctly. The guess work is over now and businesses can easily drive business goals and leads with the new call to action button.

If you don’t see the call to action button feature in your cover photo yet, don’t worry, it’s coming soon. Facebook rolls new features out to groups of pages at a time. So keep checking over the next few weeks for the new feature.

How else can Facebook help your business?

Facebook Ads

Many businesses aren’t happy with the pay-to-play approach Facebook is leveraging but if you haven’t tried Facebook Ads you’re missing out. With Facebook having an audience of over one billion people, you not only have the opportunity to reach a large audience but you get to hyper target that audience. Facebook allows the capability to target a very specific audience. Not only can you target people by age, gender and location but you can target people with certain interest and even people who ‘like’ your competitors’ pages.

Did you know that 47% of Americans use Facebook as their number one influence before making a purchase? And that Facebook gives your fans the ability to write you a review on your Facebook page? This gives your business a big advantage to manage and excel your online reputation. Don’t be afraid to ask for reviews and customer feedback. Loyal customers will happily review you. Customers who weren’t happy with your service are not something to fear. These reviews give you a chance to show off your customer service skills which is of high value to the majority of your customers.

No matter what way you look at it, Facebook definitely has its pros and cons but they are making worthwhile for businesses to stay on board with them.
