Happy Cinco de Mayo!
We’ve seen some big changes at La Casa de Creative Click Media since this time last year, but something has definitely stayed the same: we still love a good party.
A growing team, new awards, and a beautiful lakefront office are all causes for celebration, and there’s no better way to kick off the party than with some Cinco-inspired margaritas.
We shared our favorite margarita recipes last Cinco de Mayo, but why stop there? This year we’ve doubled our list of margarita faves, and we guarantee you’ll find something that’ll have you saying ¡Arriba! at your next fiesta.
Adam’s Inverted Jalapeño Margarita
Backward, forwards, upside down, or right side up, this twisted take on a classic margarita is sure to spice up your fiesta!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Tequila
- .5 oz. Orange Liqueur
- 1 oz. Lime Juice
- .5 oz. Agave Syrup
- 3 Jalapeño Coins
- Ice Cubes
Directions: Start your margarita off with a kick by combining one jalapeño coin with your agave syrup. Mix with your tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and ice cubes in a shaker, and strain over a glass of ice. Turn up the heat by topping it off with your remaining jalapeño coins and a lime wedge, and enjoy!
Alexa’s Shady Lady Margarita
Whether you’re finding shade, throwing shade, or have it made in the shade, Alexa’s Shady Lady Margarita has you covered!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Tequila
- 1 oz. Melon Liqueur
- .5 oz. Grapefruit Juice
- Ice Cubes
Directions: Shake up your tequila, melon liqueur, and grapefruit juice in a shaker with ice. When fused to perfection, pour into a margarita glass. Top it off with an orange slice and you’ll feel like you’re sipping poolside in no time!
Alex’s Gluten Free-ta Classic Margarita
Sometimes the classics are the way to go — after all, can you really improve on perfection?
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. Tequila
- 2 oz. Triple Sec
- 1.5 oz. Lime Juice
- Ice Cubes
- Salt (for rim)
Directions: This go-to fiesta favorite starts by combining your tequila, Triple Sec, and lime juice in a shaker with ice. Once chilled, pour into a salt-rimmed margarita glass over ice. Garnish your drink with a slice of lime, and say cheers!
Amanda’s Tropical Escape Margarita
We’ve all heard about pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, but wouldn’t you rather get caught on an island with Amanda’s Tropical Escape Margarita?
Ingredients:
- 1 part Tequila
- 4 parts Pineapple Juice
- ½ part Triple Sec
- ¼ part Lime Juice
- Ice Cubes
- Salt (for rim)
Directions: Your passport to paradise calls for combining tequila, pineapple juice, Triple Sec, and lime juice in a shaker with ice. Pour into your margarita glass, and garnish with a salted rim and a lime wedge for that authentic island vibe.
Anthony’s Sour Patch (Not For) Kids Margarita
First, it’s sour, then it’s sweet…you’re sure to please the crowds with this tasty treat!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Tequila
- ½ oz. Melon Liqueur
- ½ oz. Triple Sec
- 1 oz. Sour Mix
- 1 oz. Orange Juice
- Sugar (for rim)
- 1 Box Sour Patch Kids (for garnish)
Directions: Combine tequila, melon liqueur, Triple Sec, sour mix, and orange juice in a shaker with ice. Pour into a sugar-coated margarita glass, and garnish with lime before adding a healthy serving of Sour Patch Kids (serving suggestion: eat the rest of your box of Sour Patch Kids while enjoying your drink!).
Ben’s Bourgeois Beerita
If the flavors, fruits, and frills of a margarita have you feeling overwhelmed, look no further than the simplistic stylings of Ben’s Bourgeois Beerita!
Ingredients:
- Beer
Directions:
1) Throw out margarita mix
2) Crack open a beer
3) Pour beer into a margarita glass
4) Get festive
Bev’s Poppin’ Pomegranate Margarita
Class, sophistication, and the pop of color Cinco de Mayo parties are known for…Bev’s Poppin’ Pomegranate Margarita has it all!
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. Tequila
- 1 oz. Triple Sec
- 2 oz. Lime Juice
- ¼ cup Pomegranate Juice
- Ice Cubes
- Salt (for rim)
Directions: Blend together your tequila, triple sec, lime juice, pomegranate juice, and ice cubes until your fruity refresher has a “smoothie”-like consistency. Serve in a salted-rim margarita glass with a lime wedge on top, and your party will be poppin’ in no time!
Francis’ Bloody Good Blood Orange Margarita
Looking for something to cure than insatiable thirst? Francis’ Bloody Good Blood Orange Margarita trades out Transylvania for tequila in this citrusy Cinco cocktail.
Ingredients:
- 1 qt. Orange Juice
- 1.5 cups Lime Juice
- 1.5 cups Triple Sec
- 3.5 cups Tequila
- 1 Blood Orange
- Ice Cubes
- Salt (for rim)
Directions: Mix together orange juice, lime juice, Triple Sec, and tequila with ice to chill. Salt the rim of your margarita glass before filling it with your mixed drink. Garnish with a slice of blood orange, and enjoy your half tart, half-sweet treat!
Gavin’s Mostly-Not-A Margarita
If the thought of drinking tequila conjures up some bad memories (or even worse, no memories at all), Gavin’s Mostly-Not-A Margarita is here to save the party and your taste buds.
Ingredients:
- 3 oz. Bourbon
- Triple Sec
- Sour Mix
- Ice Cubes
Directions: Mix together your serving of bourbon and a generous splash of Triple Sec. To kick the flavor up a notch, add in another splash of your favorite sour mix. Shake your concoction to the perfect consistency, top it off with a lemon wedge, and you’re ready to serve.
Olivia’s Pretty in Pink Grapefruit Mockarita
No alcohol? No problem! Cinco de Mayo might be an all-day fiesta, but you’ll be sipping guilt-free from morning ‘til night with Olivia’s Pretty in Pink Grapefruit Mockarita.
Ingredients:
- 6 tsp. Pomegranate Syrup
- 1.5 cups Grapefruit Juice
- Ice Cubes
- Sugar (for rim)
Directions: Get the pink party started by pouring pomegranate syrup into a sugar-coated margarita glass. Blend together grapefruit juice and ice cubes until your ice is crushed, then fill the remainder of your glass. Garnish with a lime round for that extra pop of color, and voila!
